About the OPCA Online PMH Course
The OPCA Online PMH Course is available exclusively to employees of OPCA member companies. This flexible, fully online training option enables students to prepare for the TSSA Petroleum Mechanic Helper (PMH) exam without the need to attend an in-person review session.
Course Overview
The online course content mirrors that of the OPCA Home Study Program and includes all the required material to prepare for the TSSA PMH certification exam. It offers the added convenience of self-paced learning and flexible exam scheduling.
- Course Duration: Approximately 30 hours (suggested time)
- Note: Course duration does not include the required practical assessment.
Practical Assessment
Before writing the TSSA exam, students must complete a practical assessment with their employer:
- The practical must be conducted by a TSSA license holder (Signing Authority).
- The completed Practical Assessment Passport must be brought to the written exam.
- The Practical Assessment Passport is available for download on the OPCA learning platform.
TSSA PMH Exam
After completing the course:
- Students may register for the exam through OPCA, which holds regularly scheduled exam sessions at the OPCA office in Barrie.
- Exam registration must be completed at least 18 days in advance.
- Registration and TSSA exam fees can be paid online during sign-up (fees are outlined on the exam registration page).
Alternatively, students may choose to write the exam at a TSSA testing centre located throughout Ontario.
