The work would involve servicing equipment related to storing and dispensing gasoline and related products at retail gas stations. Industry experience would be a definite asset. The successful applicant must be familiar with electronics, electrical systems, mechanical systems, and hydraulics and proficient with computers. A 309A licensed electrician would be very beneficial. The applicant must be able to work independently to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair fuel dispensing systems. The position does include being on call 24/7 for one week per month. Customer service and safety conscientiousness are paramount.

Our Cambridge, ON location is seeking an experienced mature Petroleum Mechanic (PM3) – Service Technician to join our growing team who is adept at problem-solving, self-motivated, and disciplined, and capable of working alone in the field for days or weeks. This is a full-time position.
Description:
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Petroleum Mechanic-Service Technician ensures clients are provided with in-depth service, inspection and repairs based on the CSA B836-22. This position is responsible for maintaining and developing business relationships through outstanding customer service. This chosen candidate for position will be instrumental in creating Service Division which may evolve into a supervisorial position.
Responsibilities:
- Execute the expansion of the business by proactively pursuing business opportunities and selling products and services throughout the designated region.
- Maintain/service aviation fueling systems and components as required.
- Assist in designing, developing, and quoting aviation fueling services agreements/contracts.
- Provide advice, guidance, and direction as it relates to companies fueling parts, systems, and solutions operations.
- Manage supplier relationships and assist in obtaining new ones.
- Work with the Regional Manager to forge growth throughout the company.
- Assist in developing and executing business development strategies where required.
- Assist in overseeing and managing capital programs where required.
- Travel to various customer sites within assigned regions to perform service and inspections as needed.
- Maintain a tidy and orderly work area exhibiting pride in work performance and contributing to a healthy and safe work environment.
- Ensure exceptional, courteous, and respectful customer service.
- Comply with and participate in the Company’s Health & Safety and Quality programs and initiatives.
- Perform any other duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Completion of a Technical or business degree preferred. Examples include: Petroleum Mechanic Certifications (PM1, PM2, PM3, or PMH) or equivalent is a requirement!
- Previous working experience in the aviation industry an asset, with direct working knowledge of fuel systems.
- An understanding of fueling procedures, equipment, and parts is an asset.
- Highly developed understanding of industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Excellent time management, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient with word processing and spreadsheets.
- Works well under pressure and has demonstrated success in meeting deadlines.
- Customer focused and service driven.
- Able to travel throughout Canada as required.
- Able to obtain Transport Canada RAIC pass if required.
- Professional, punctual, meticulous, and diligent.
- Able to work collaboratively as a productive member of the AGFT Team.
Additional Assets:
- Electrical expertise (in petroleum or otherwise) or an understanding of electrical concepts and basic programming
- Electronic knowledge of controls such as LCRII, Point of Sale Terminals, Kraus Micon, TCS 3000, MidCom, etc.
- Training and experience in transportation of dangerous goods (land, sea, and air); training and experience in POL handling and aircraft refueling; fall arrest training; hazardous material training; confined space training all an asset
- Valid driver’s license for operating heavy equipment; airbrake endorsement
