Job Description:

As a Fuel Systems Technician, you will be responsible to visit various client sites to service, maintain, repair, or install generator fuel systems, exhaust systems, and related equipment.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for all duties related to the installation, repair and removal, servicing & inspection of fuel storage tanks and fuel systems for generators, fire pumps, and boilers. Some responsibilities include:

  • Service and maintain petroleum equipment, systems, and accessories essential to site operation
  • Install, repair, maintenance, and removal of diesel fuel storage tanks
  • Install, repair, maintenance, and removal of accessories related to diesel fuel storage tanks such as valves, pumps, etc.
  • Service, maintain, and repair generator fuel and exhaust systems
  • Perform piping installation, testing, along with transfer pump system installation and testing
  • Maintain good time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Exercise considerable independent judgement in solving unusual work problems
  • Help maintain strong, trustworthy, and lasting relationships with our existing and new clients

Qualifications:

  • PM2 or PM3 License’s
  • G License with a clean driving record

Petroleum Technician- Edmonton & Kelowna

Overview

This position is responsible for the maintenance, and/or repair, of a variety of physical plant and specialized equipment in an assigned group of 7-Eleven stores within a geographic area. This position would also perform on the job training and assessment of new Techs. Service calls are initiated from the store via 7Help work orders to appropriate technician. Position reports to the Area Facilities Manager. Applicant must currently be certified as a Petroleum Mechanic 1.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on the job training and assessment of new Techs
  • Perform follow up assessments and training of new Techs after they have been in the field for a given time
  • All duties and responsibilities of a Tech 1 and at least 75% proficiency in Tech II duties and responsibilities listed below
  • Responds to work orders for a wide variety of in-store equipment focusing on fuel related calls (ex. printers, displays card readers, hanging hardware, sensors, ATG equipment, etc.)

REPORTING TO THE DIRECTOR, MAINTENANCE AND ENGINEERING PROJECTS

About the role: 

This position, under general supervision, will maintain all terminal/site equipment, perform reparation and daily support of all processes. Leads in-depth troubleshooting initiatives with terminal operators and the maintenance team. Through participation in improvement and maintenance projects, liaise with Engineering, Projects, Operations, and other support groups. Ensure all duties are performed in compliance with Greenergy safety requirements, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Industry good practices. The Petroleum Maintenance Technician provides the first response to engineering fault conditions, both reactive and planned maintenance activities, as well as being involved in continuous improvement projects. 

Key activities: 

  • Provide service, repair, maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of liquid handling equipment and systems. 
  • Prepare work orders and other necessary paperwork and documentation according to Company requirements. 
  • Hands-on experience with Petroleum Handling Equipment (flow meters, pumps, valves, etc.). 
  • Accountable for maintaining parts inventories through the company maintenance software. 
  • Ensure proper maintenance is conducted for Company tools and equipment. 
  • Strong aptitude for electronic, mechanical and computer systems. 
  • Meet Company and Legislative health and safety standards (i.e., personal protective equipment, equipment/material handling etc.). 
  • Comply with all Company Policies and Procedures. 
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently to accomplish the tasks.

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience. 
  • A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, 3-year engineering technology diploma (Mechanical), or technical trade school, or advanced training in maintenance is required. 
  • TSSA Petroleum Mechanic PM1 Certification. 
  • This role is predominantly mechanical in nature and requires an in-depth knowledge of mechanical concepts along with hands on experience maintaining pump, and instrumentation. 
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical/electrical drawings (PFDs, P&IDs, Detail Engineering Drawings). 
  • Experience carrying out electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical maintenance to include predictive and preventive planned maintenance. 
  • Experience troubleshooting and documenting equipment breakdowns, resolving issues and handling repairs. 
  • Innovation and ability to use initiative. 
  • Flexibility regarding work activities and type of work requirements. 
  • The ability to work in a multi-discipline, multi-tasking team environment. 
  • Expertise in the use of mechanical and electrical measuring instruments. 
  • Demonstrable analytical skills with sound problem-solving ability. 
  • Ability to generate, publish and communicate relevant reports to management.
